Qismat 2 Broke The Record Of Chal Mera Putt 2

Qismat 2 has set a post pandemic record for Punjabi films as it collects 1.25 crore nett on day one with excellent business in Delhi city. The film beat the collections of Chal Mere Putt 2 which had collected 1.05 crore nett on day one although the East Punjab number is pretty similar for both films.

This is because of the heavy rain at many centres which include Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Moga and the film would have lost around 10 lakhs due to this. The East Punjab number was 95 lakh nett while Delhi / UP collected 26 lakhs nett which is excellent and not many Punjabi films have done this in normal times.

The collections in some of the main cinemas in Delhi city where Punjabi films do well were the highest seen post the pandemic beating films like Bell Bottom and Roohi. Qismat 2 is looking at a strong weekend and looks like being the third Punjabi film which will do well post the pandemic.

The initial business for Punjabi films in India seems pretty close to pre pandemic levels as if we take the business of Qismat 2 and account for the lost business in Punjab it is maybe just 5-10% less than what it would have done in normal times. The Delhi city numbers are also a huge boost to the Hindi industry also as it shows that people here will come out for the right film. The first day breakdown for the business of Qismat 2 is as follows.

East Punjab - 95,00,000
Delhi / UP - 26,00,000
Rest Of India - 4,00,000
TOTAL - 1,25,00,000
