Jaspal Bhatti Gave First Break To Pummy Sidhu On Jalandhar Doordarshan In His First Serial :Rang Ch Bhang:

In Punjabi cinema, it would have been very rare for an Actor to be given importance other than leading Actors.  Most of the focus remains on the hero and the heroine, whether it's the role, the dialogue or the makeup. In 1987, Veerendra's film "Yaari Jatt Di" was released. It was a super duper hit and a Silver Jubilee film of that time. Role of negative characters was equally important rather more important to make the film super hot. Let me remind you of this dialogue.

             "Oye Je Tu Velly Ae......
                        Taan Mai Vi
              Vellan Haan... .....Vellan"

With this dialogue, this character got a lot of applause in the cinemas. People especially went to watch this film again and again for this dialogue and many still watch it even today. The role of Preeti Sapru's Stepmother in this film was much appreciated. She (Pummy Sandhu) really overpowered the character Gurcharan Pohli with her powerful acting and dialogue delivery.Parminder Kaur Sidhu  alias Pammi Sandhu was born at Dera Bassi on April 17, 1959  in a Sikh family to father Dr. Bachan Singh RMP and mother Gurmeet Kaur who belonged to the nursing profession.
