The Punjabi film Qismat 2 has taken a good opening

The Punjabi film Qismat 2 has taken a good opening though the Doaba (Central Punjab) region has been heavily affected with rain. The opening outside this belt was pretty much on par with Chal Mera Putt 2 which opened a few weeks back and its likely that the collections in places like Jalandhar and Moga which are heavy contributors will keep this film below Chal Mera Putt 2 as far as the business in East Punjab goes.
The smaller centres of this area are also heavily affected with very low morning numbers due to the heavy rain with shows that should be collecting 10-15k doing just 1-2k. If the content works then this will be covered in the long run but obviously it will affect the opening day number.

Still its a solid opening and this has come without an advance which opened very late just a day before release so there were not many tickets sold before release. In the post covid period the advance is holding less importance as it hardly matters if you cant actually open well on the day.

There have been so many Hollywood releases taking advances but on the day they are not able to actually open and get the on the day crowd. Here Qismat 2 has opened the day which gives it a good chance to do well.

Looking at this film in pre covid times it would probably have been expected to open in the 1.25 crore nett range with a 1 crore nett plus total coming from East Punjab but that would be a Friday opening. If the film can get to 1 crore nett across India on a Thursday with key regions hit by the weather it would be a very good result for the film.
